Severe storm damage prompted urgent repair and alterations to a home business. Open flexibility to suit a home or a work meeting, light, shade and full shut down for storms were important for safeguarding the continuity of business. As the home studio of an all Australian Sustainable Clothing label, the alterations also had to be in keeping with the owners’ strong sustainable philosophy. The new design successfully incorporated recycled and plantation timbers, low VOC paints and materials, Solar power, natural light and ventilation, and rainwater connection.
